Kelly Neilo Taylor, 66, of Ogden, Utah, passed away on September 25, 2024. Born on December 18, 1957, in Salt Lake City, Kelly lived a life filled with adventure, hard work, and a deep love for the great outdoors. He worked as an excavation foreman for Morgan Pavement, Devcor, and MC Green, where he was known for his dedication and leadership. Kelly also served as a volunteer firefighter, bravely fighting the Yellowstone fire. Among his many adventures, he mined for gold on the Green River and fished for salmon and halibut in Alaska, as well as sturgeon fishing in Idaho with his son Neilo.
Kelly was preceded in death by his parents, Neilo Q. Taylor and Berta Deanne Lund, as well as his beloved life partner, Beth Dunston. He is survived by his three children: Treasa Taylor, Tanya Leavitt (Aaron Leavitt), and Neilo Ray Taylor (Colette Taylor). He was a proud grandfather to eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Kelly is also survived by his six siblings: Audry Campbell (Keith Campbell), Vance Taylor (Patty Taylor), Melvin Taylor (Donna Taylor), Lara Campbell (Allen Campbell), and Cindy Snow (Jim), along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.
Known as a "Mighty Hunter" and passionate outdoorsman, Kelly's trophies included moose, bull elk, buffalo, wild boar, and more. He enjoyed fly fishing, tying flies, gold mining, metal detecting, gardening, playing the guitar, and a good practical joke. His sense of humor and adventurous spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Kelly’s life will be celebrated Saturday October, 26th from 12p.m. to 3p.m. at the LDS Church House 1570 E. 1300 S. Ogden, UT 84404
