December 7, 1955 – February 2, 2025
We have lost a good woman. Karen Wobbe Kadleck passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2025, in Sandy, Utah. Karen was born on December 7, 1955. She was born to Rudi and Herta Wobbe in Salt Lake City, Utah. She is survived by her husband, David M. Kadleck Jr., son Tanner Kadleck (wife Lindsay Thrall, granddaughter Juniper and grandson Ellis), son Preston (wife Cami, granddaughters, Ada, Sage, and Penny), son Garrett (wife Amanda), sister Evelyn Johnson and mother-in-law Carolyn Kadleck.
Karen attended West High School and was proud to be a Panther. Many of her favorite people are Panthers. She attended the University of Utah where she studied business. She was also involved in the Institute choir. She loved singing.
She went to Dusseldorf, Germany for her Mission. Her parents being from Germany gave her an edge in her language skills.
Karen's employment as an Office Manager at PMJ Companies was satisfying. Her highlight at her work however were her co-workers. She called them her work buddies and loved the spirit and fun they all brought to their work environment.
Karen had the spirit of adventure and loved the outdoors. She met her husband on a singles river trip. She got her husband into scuba diving. Camping, river running and Jeep safaris became the favorite activities for the whole family. And they did it a lot. Being the mother of three boys, she was the perfect adventure Mom.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Her favorite title was that of “Song Lady” when she led the Primary in singing time. She made singing time fun. She also served as Young Women’s president and built character and long-term friendships with many young women. Served in several different roles in Relief Society. Served as a Ward Missionary with her husband. She taught in the Primary for several years. And loved the children, and they loved her.
Her guitar skills were excellent. One of the blessings in her home was hearing guitar music constantly as she prepared to teach many of the youth in our area the magic of playing the guitar. Many people have commented that with her shorter hair and guitar, she looked like Julie Andrews. Actually, “The Sound of Music” was her favorite movie.
Karen was quick to smile and even quicker to laugh. Her laughter was contagious. If you were around her, the world was a better and happier place. We love you Karen, and we will miss you.
Karen is predeceased by her sisters Angelika Federick, Claudia Isenhour, and brother-in-law Dan Federick.
An evening visitation will be held Friday, February 7, 2025, from 6:00–8:00pm at the Granite Ridge Ward, 9575 South 3100 East Sandy, Utah 84092. A visitation will take place on Saturday, February 8, 2025, from 11:30am–12:45pm at the same location, with funeral services to follow at 1:00pm.
