Johnny Lee Cleveland, born on December 31, 1952 in Evansville, Indiana, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2024 in Salt Lake City, UT at the age of 71. Johnny was a kind and generous soul who touched the lives of everyone he met. His love for animals, fishing, and the great outdoors were the cornerstones of his life.
Known for his unwavering generosity, Johnny gave to those in need, even during times when he had little to give himself. His compassion and selflessness left a lasting impression on all who knew him. He believed in the power of kindness and the importance of giving back, always offering a helping hand without hesitation.
Preceded in death by his parents, John Hale and Ruth Jean Cleveland, and his sisters Donna and Sharon. He is survived by his partner and best friend Gladys Cleveland, daughter Jillian (Jeremy) Carlton, sons Buck (Amy) Cleveland, Johnny L. Cleveland Jr., Taylor Brandt, sisters Debbie, Delores, and Pam, as well as his grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews as well as his great friends and neighbors Joseph Gallucci and Karlie Bright.
A celebration of Johnny’s life will be held on Friday, October 25, 2024 1:00pm to 4:00pm at City View Mortuary, 1001 E 11th Ave. in Salt Lake City, UT.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Utah Humane Society.
